AC Servicing — Dry Service & Wet Service

Why Regular AC Servicing Matters ?
Air conditioners in Nepal work hard. In summer they run for long hours to cool your room. In winter, Hot and Cold (Heat Pump) models are used for heating. Add the dust of the Kathmandu Valley, the highway towns and the Terai, plus the humidity of monsoon, and filters and coils get dirty faster than most people expect.
A dirty AC cannot cool or heat the way it should. The airflow drops, the room takes longer to reach the set temperature, and the unit uses more electricity for the same result.
Regular servicing helps you with:
  • Cooling in summer — proper airflow and faster cooling
  • Heating in winter — better heat output from Hot & Cold / Heat Pump models
  • Better performance — the unit works the way it was designed to
  • Cleaner air — clean filters mean less dust blown into the room
  •  Efficiency — a clean system uses less power for the same comfort
  •  Early problem detection — small issues are found before they become big repairs
Most customers service their AC before summer and again before winter. Dusty locations, shops and offices usually need it more often.

A. Dry Service

What is Dry Service?
Dry service is routine cleaning and inspection done without presser water washing. The technician opens the unit, cleans the filters and accessible parts, wipes down the surfaces, checks the operation and puts everything back.
It is quick, there is no water mess in the room, and it is the right choice for an AC that is looked after regularly.

What is Included (as applicable to your unit and its condition)
  • Air filter cleaning
  • Indoor unit cleaning
  • Evaporator coil inspection and dry cleaning, as applicable
  • Blower inspection
  • Outdoor unit cleaning
  • Condenser cleaning
  • Drain line checking
  • Electrical connection inspection
  • Refrigerant system check, as applicable
  • Cooling performance check
  • Heating / heat-pump performance check, for Hot & Cold models
  • General operation check
Not every item applies to every unit. The technician will check the condition on site and inform you what is needed.

When to Choose Dry Service
  • Your AC is serviced regularly, once or twice a year
  • The unit is in a clean, indoor environment
  • Cooling and heating are still working normally
  • You want a routine check before the summer or winter season
  • Water washing is not practical in that room or location

B. Wet Service

What is Wet Service?
Wet service is deeper cleaning that uses presser water washing on the coils and other parts. The electrical and electronic components are covered and protected first, then the dirt that has settled inside the coils and blower is washed out.
This is the right service when dry cleaning alone will not remove the buildup.
What is Included (as applicable to your unit and its condition)
  • Indoor unit deep cleaning
  • Filter washing
  • Evaporator coil washing
  • Blower wheel cleaning
  • Drain tray cleaning
  • Drain pipe cleaning and flushing
  • Outdoor unit cleaning
  • Condenser coil washing
  • Removal of accumulated dust and dirt
  • Protection of electrical and electronic parts during washing
  • Cooling performance check
  • Heating / heat-pump performance check, for Hot & Cold models
  • General operation check
Some steps depend on the model, the mounting position and the condition of the unit. The technician will explain what can be done on site.
When to Choose Wet Service
  • The AC has not been serviced for a long time
  • Cooling or heating has become weak
  • Airflow has dropped or the unit smells musty
  • There is heavy dust, oil or dirt buildup on the coils
  • Water is dripping because the drain tray or pipe is blocked
  • The unit is installed in a shop, restaurant, workshop or dusty roadside location
Wet service takes longer than dry service and needs water access and drainage near the unit.
